Mr. and Mrs. Charles Herman Koestler III of Satartia announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Crystina of Brandon, to Walker Shane Garger, also of Brandon. Mr. Garger is the son of Robert Charles Garger Sr. of Pelham, Ala., and Barbara Frost of Hammond, La.

Miss Koestler is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Herman Koestler Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Amber Wilkerson, all of Vicksburg.

Mr. Garger is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. John J. Frost Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Johnson, all of Covington, La.

The bride-elect is a 1998 graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was a member of the Madrigals, Total Sound and Choices. She was a member of Vicksburg Cotillion Club and Sub-Debs.

She received a degree in nutrition and dietetics from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Miss Koestler is lead dietitian and director of food and nutrition at Madison River Oaks Hospital.

The prospective groom is a 2001 graduate of Hammond High School, where he was a member of FBLA.

He attended Hinds Community College.

Mr. Garger is employed at The Haute Pig in Madison.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 20, 2012, at Hawkins United Methodist Church of Vicksburg. A reception will follow at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
