There were a few positives from Friday’s 41-14 loss by St. Aloysius at Region 4-1A foe Salem.
First-year starter Connor Smith threw his first career TD pass to Forrest Logue to cap St. Al’s best drive of the season, a 12-play, 64-yard march that gave the Flashes an early 7-0 lead.
When Elliott Bexley — the team’s leading rusher and one of its best defenders — left the game early in the third quarter, John Austin Jones and Barrett Teller were able to pick up some of the slack in the running game. Teller had a 15-yard TD run.
