MAIS District 3-A: CENLA at Tallulah Academy

Records: CENLA (1-3, 0-1 District 3-A); Tallulah (2-2, 0-2)

Tallulah: The Trojans have dropped two straight games since an impressive 2-0 start, and now face a must-win game against CENLA Christian. Although four of the eight teams in District 3-A will earn playoff berths, a third loss within the league would leave Tallulah with an uphil climb in the second half of the season.

Last week, Tallulah totaled nearly 200 yards rushing, but lost 27-6 to Riverfield.

CENLA: The Lions started 0-3 against a brutal early-season schedule that included games against Class AA Central Private and River Oaks, and last year’s Class A runner-up Riverfield. They got in the win column last week with a 42-28 victory over Prairie View. Quarterback Caleb Vallee has thrown for 425 yards and four TDs this season, and rushed for 271 and one score.

Quotable: “You’re 0-2 in the district, you have to come out fighting.”
