Services for Gwendolyne Annette Turner Parker will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at King David No. 1 M.B. Church with the Rev. A.L. Hines officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon until 6 p.m. Friday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with the family present from 5 until 6 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until the service.

Mrs. Parker died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. She was 65.

Mrs. Parker was a lifelong member of King David No. 1 M.B. Church. She attended Rosa A. Temple High School and graduated from E.E. Smith High School in Fayetteville, N.C. She attended Tougaloo College and Mary Holmes Junior College. She was employed at Westinghouse and Union Compress and was a teacher for the Head Start Program. She was also co-owner of Carcade Lounge.

She was preceded in death by her son, Clayton Emmanuel; parents, James H. Jr. and Laura Martin Turner; and a sister, Gloria Turner Buchanan.

Survivors include her husband, Matthew Parker of Vicksburg; daughter, Ethel Renee Buchanan of Vicksburg; son, Craig Donnell Buchanan of Vicksburg; brother, Wardell Turner of Orlando; three sisters, her twin Jacquelyne Harris and Gayelord Carpenter, both of Vicksburg, Courtanya Ferguson of Los Angeles; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends including the Harris, Carpenter, Martin, Turner and Parker families of Vicksburg and the Ferguson family of Los Angeles.
