(NewsUSA) – We welcome the revival of warm, sunny days, but sometimes the onset of warm weather is stressful. Sure, ladies get to refresh their closets with hot styles and new clothes, but there’s the whole bathing suit debacle.

In fact, the little terror called swimwear causes us so much anxiety that Americans spend anywhere from $30 billion to $60 billion each year on weight loss, according to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

But warm-weather fashion isn’t all scary. Adorable spring trends are emerging, and they sure are fun and spicy this season. Check out three bold tips to get the best of the budding 2012 fashion trends:

1. Don’t squeeze your curves into the wrong swimwear.

Too many women ignore their body type and look for so-called “sexy” swimwear because Victoria’s Secret tells them that’s how to look great. But there are suits available that accommodate real figures while maintaining style and comfort — like Girltrunks (mygirltrunks.com).

Girltrunks are swim shorts for women. The tankini-styled tops are paired with tailored women’s swim trunks available in two leg-covering lengths. It enables you to be fashionable without worrying about revealing what you don’t want or don’t feel comfortable revealing. Plus, they are versatile enough to wear in your day-to-day life. Girltrunks are made from a quickly drying fabric, and they come in sizes 4-24 for all the women who aren’t sized like Goldilocks.

2. The brighter, the better.

Warm-weather fashion is all about bold colors and floral prints. Celebrity stylist from Bravo TV, Brad Goreski, calls it a “pop of color.” Whether it’s a scarf, purse, belt, shoes or pants, a splash of color brightens any outfit. Although pastels may be replacing neons, bright colors never go out of style. And if pastels or bright colors aren’t your thing, according to Adam Glassman of O Magazine, white jeans or pants can “freshen up anything you wear.”

3. Accessories to watch: clutches, kooky sunglasses and silver pumps.

Accessories add a unique flair, and sometimes they pull the whole look together. For sexy dates or just a night out, clutches are a must-have. This year, they’re coming out in loads — neon clutches, snakeskin clutches, leather clutches, velvet clutches and more. And yes, the brighter, the better!

Kooky, oversized sunglasses debuted in spring 2012 fashion week, the star being retro-inspired cat-eye glasses. If you can pull it off, be daring and go for it. Another bold look is the metallics sweeping the accessory market from bags to pumps. Silver totes, satchels and Marc Jacobs heels show that the futuristic, sci-fi look is making a strong appearance.
