A Vicksburg man was in the Issaquena County Jail this morning on charges of possessing a weapon by a felon.

Thomas Porter, 56, 316 Lake Hill Drive, was arrested Saturday night when police responded to a domestic violence call in the 100 block of Alcorn Drive, Lt. Beverly Prentiss said. When police arrived, she said, officers saw Porter holding a .25 caliber Lorcin handgun.

Porter had convicted of sale of cocaine, but a date of conviction was unavailable.
