The engagement of Marlene Guthrie of Canton to Randy Springer of Pickens is announced today. Vows will be exchanged at 2 p.m. Nov. 10, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Madison. A reception will follow at the church’s CAC Building. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Miss Guthrie is the daughter of William Guthrie of Mountain View, Ark., and the late Peggy Ervin Guthrie.

Mr. Springer is the son of Alvin and Gladys Springer of Pickens.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Warren Central High School. She attended Hinds Junior College.

Miss Guthrie is an accounts payable clerk/administrative assistant for the City of Flowood.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Canton Academy. He attended Holmes Junior College.

Mr. Springer is self-employed as owner of Springer Heating & Air.
