Wibowo, Stone power Flashes to Red Carpet sweep

Wally Wibowo won the boys 50- and 100-yard freestyle, Dixon Stone led a St. Aloysius sweep in the 500-yard freestyle, and the Flashes beat Warren Central and Brandon in the Red Carpet Classic swim meet Monday at City Pool.
The three-team event was swum as a head-to-head dual meet. St. Al beat Warren Central 77-59, and Brandon 80-63. Brandon beat WC 68-65.
Wibowo won the 50 freestyle in 23.19 seconds and the 100 free in 53.14 seconds. WC’s Ben Porter finished a distant second in both events. He was nearly two seconds behind Wibowo in the 50 and 51⁄2 seconds back in the 100.
Stone won the 500 in 6 minutes, 16.73 seconds. Teammates Rob Sanders and Connor Clark were second and third, respectively.
Stone also finished second in the 200 freestyle.
Warren Central’s Hunter Anderson won the 200 freestyle and the 100 butterfly, and Cameron Chappell won the 100 backstroke.
In the girls’ meet, Afton Wallace won the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke to lead Warren Central to a 69-51 victory over St. Al. Mya Chappell finished second to Wallace in the 100 backstroke, and won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:22.33.
Brandon beat both Warren County teams, gaining an 81-66 win over Warren Central and an 86-47 victory over St. Al.
St. Al’s Blaine Butler won the 50-yard freestyle and was second in the 100, while Katie Martin won the 100 breastroke and finished second in the 100 butterfly.
