A prescription drug take-back day will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Saturday at the Outlets at Vicksburg.

Warren County Sheriff’s Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration will be in the parking lot of the shopping center to collect unwanted and expired prescriptions and over-the-counter medications.

The event is the second drug take-back this year, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

He said the program’s success has prompted authorities to hold the take-back more often than annually, the initial intention.

Participants may dispose of medication in original containers, but any personal identifying information must be removed from the label.

The forfeited drugs will be incinerated by the DEA.

“It’s a partnership between us to combat the No. 1 drug problem in the nation,” Pace said.
