FLOWOOD — Once again, the Vicksburg Gators beat the Vicksburg Gators.

Northwest Rankin took advantage of a slew of mistakes to keep Vicksburg’s surging offense in check, and cashed in twice with touchdown drives on short fields to take a 21-6 victory Friday night.

Vicksburg (1-5, 0-2 Region 2-6A) had averaged 30 points in its last three games, but sputtered badly against Northwest Rankin (2-4, 1-1). In the second half, Vicksburg had just 13 yards of total offense and its only first down came on a penalty.
