St. Al, WC finish solid at Hartfield

St. Aloysius and Warren Central both had strong performances at Saturday’s Hartfield Academy Invitational swim meet. The WC boys finished third in the eight-team event with 73 points, while St. Al finished fourth with 67. Oxford won the boys’ meet with a score of 152.

St. Al was fifth in the girls’ rankings with 44 points, which was won by St. Andrew’s with a score of 143.

Top finishers for St. Al were: Wally Wibowo, who won the boys’ 100-yard freestyle; the boys’ 200-yard medley relay team with a second-place finish; Katie Martin, who finished third in the girls’ 100-yard butterfly; and the boys’ 200-yard freestyle relay team with a second-place finish.

Top finishers for WC included Hunter K. Anderson with wins in the 200-yard IM and the 100-yard breaststroke; third-place showings by Afton Wallace in the girls’ 50-yard freestyle and the 100-yard backstroke; Ben Porter with a second-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle; the girls’ 200-yard freestyle relay team who finished third; and a second-place finish by Cameron Chappell in the 100-yard backstroke.
