The City Hall Annex will not be torn down. Instead, it is getting a new roof.

Mayor Paul Winfield said after a meeting of the Board of Mayor and Aldermen Monday that a contractor could be hired for the project before the end of the week. This morning, board members were gathered to discuss bids.

“We plan to take care of the roof and protect the building as an asset,” Winfield said.
