Mr. and Mrs. Charles Allen Hudspeth of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Laura Virginia of Birmingham, Ala., to David Hatton Marbury V of Nashville, Tenn. Mr. Marbury is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Hatton Marbury IV of Florence, Ala.

Miss Hudspeth is the granddaughter of Laura Allen Hudspeth and the late Charles Durr Hudspeth of Jackson and the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard Bennett Ward of Meridian.

Mr. Marbury is the grandson of Mrs. Benjamin Hogan Craig Jr. and the late Mr. Craig of Florence and Mrs. David Hatton Marbury and the late Mr. Marbury of Birmingham.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Warren Central High School. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in consumer sciences from the University of Mississippi and a master’s degree in clinical nutrition from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority.

Miss Hudspeth is a registered dietitian with the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital.

The prospective groom is a 2003 graduate of Coffee High School in Florence. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history from the University of Mississippi and a Bachelor of Science degree in concrete construction management from Middle Tennessee State University.

He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity.

Mr. Marbury is a project engineer with Hobbs and Associates of Nashville.

Vows will be exchanged at 6 p.m. Jan. 19, 2013, at Crawford Street United Methodist Church. A reception will follow at the B’nai B’rith Literary Club.
