National Adopt-a-Shelter Dog month will continue through October, and Volunteers at Paws Rescue are encouraging Vicksburg and Warren County residents to adopt rescued dogs from Paws Rescue or the Vicksburg City Pound.

For residents unable to adopt, volunteers are needed to walk dogs or socialize with cats or donate food, litter, toys and treats. Residents also can sponsor the cost of a dog or cat that needs additional medical care.
