Lillian Hadad Toney

Lillian Hadad Toney died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, at River Region Medical Center surrounded by her family. She was 89.
Born in Vicksburg, she was the daughter of John A. Hadad Sr. and Matilda Nosser Hadad. Besides her love for her family, she enjoyed painting, drawing orchids, fishing, Ole Miss football and, occasionally, a piece of chocolate.
Mrs. Toney was a member of St. George Antiochian Orthodox Christian Church and the Women of St. George.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Charles A. Toney Sr.; four daughters, Lana Hand, Toni Toney, Charlene Toney and Barbara Hoey; one son, Charles A. Toney Jr.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, all of whom she loved dearly; and one sister, Betty Namey of Jacksonville, Fla.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, John A. Hadad Jr.; and a sister, Dolly H. Hadad.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Riles Funeral Home with Father John Morris, pastor of St. George, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the hour of the service.
Pallbearers will be James David, Butch Toney, Michael LaHood, Peter Mims, Benjamin Hand IV, Thad Burgess and Jemel David.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Women of St. George.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or to Blair E. Batson Children’s Hospital.
