Speak for yourself

I have never written a letter to the editor of The Vicksburg Post before. However, I was disappointed and saddened by the letter written by Glen Palmer concerning his claims that Vicksburg city officials did not assist the Fuzzy Johnson Baseball League.

Palmer knows that the Fuzzy Johnson Baseball League Board met several times with Mayor Paul Winfield and Alderman Michael Mayfield. The mayor and alderman’s help have been unwavering since their term in office. Palmer is entitled to his opinion, but he can only speak for himself and not the other members of the board.

The area and fixtures of the ballpark were upgraded and maintained due to the mayor and alderman’s support and assistance.

Of course, I am stating a fact, and I am only speaking on behalf of Louis Smith. However, the people attending the baseball games and residing in the community can attest.

Mr. Palmer, I suggest that your comments should be based on facts rather than personal motives and opinions.
