The smell of grilled bratwurst will fill the air Saturday as members of the Lutheran Church of the Messiah host their 24th annual Germanfest.
“The bratwurst comes from Milwaukee and the brand name is Usinger’s Famous Sausage,” said Ruth Osburn, wife of pastor Gary Osburn.
She said the bratwurst are shipped in dry ice from Wisconsin about a week before the event.
The church has been purchasing the bratwurst from the Usinger Company since the start of the annual fundraiser. Usinger has been making all types of specialty sausages since 1880.
