Organizers are expecting thousands of visitors in downtown Rolling Fork Saturday for the 10th Great Delta Bear Affair.

The event started in 2002 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of former President Theodore Roosevelt’s bear-hunting expedition to Sharkey County, said Meg Cooper with the Lower Delta Partnership, the group that sponsors the event.

“We will average 6,000 to 7,000 visitors over the course of the day,” Cooper said. “There’s so many things, and music is a big draw.”
