Amy Kathryn Ameen Walker passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. She was 78.
Mrs. Walker was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg. She graduated from Carr High School and retired from Westinghouse Co.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney J. Ameen and Hazel Ameen; her husband, Floyd “Bud” Walker; a sister, Bonnie Huntington; her grandson, Robert K. Foley III; and great-grandson, David Stinson.
Survivors include three sons, Hoyt M. “Bobby”Hogan, Daniel G. Hogan and Michael “Mike” Walker, all of Vicksburg; two daughters, Charlotte Stinson and Virginia “Tina” Foley, of Vicksburg; one brother, George Ameen of Glen Allen; and one sister, Mary Helen Ameen of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral home with the Revs. Dwight Sibley, David Sterling and E. L. Sharp officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is from 5 to 7 tonight and Monday from 1 p.m. until the service.
Pallbearers will be Robert Foley Jr., Clyde “C. B.” Stinson, Jake Barrett, Josh Barrett, George Ameen Jr., Tony Irwin, Billy “Griz” Allen, Wesley Blair, Donnie Lee, Cliff Ferrell and Ricky Trim.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Edney, Dr. Hamadeah and the entire staff of doctors and nurses of the River Region Medical Center ICU.
People may make donations to the charity of their choice or to the Robert Knox Foley III Memorial Scholarship Fund at Vicksburg Catholic School.
