Stevens ousts incumbent Murphy for school board seat

Former Vicksburg High School football coach Alonzo Stevens defeated four-term incumbent Zelmarine Murphy for the Vicksburg Warren School District Board of Trustees District 2 position in Tuesday’s election.

Stevens defeated Murphy 1,729-1,391, winning four of six precincts that lie entirely or partially in District 2.
