PREP SOCCERLady Vikes notch fourth straight shutout

Kara Martin scored three goals in two games, goal keeper McKenzie Page recorded a pair of easy shutouts, and Warren Central remained undefeated with a pair of victories at the Laurel Tournament on Saturday.

Martin scored twice in a 3-0 win over Forrest AHS, then had the go-ahead goal early in the second half of a 2-0 win over Bay High.

Katie Humphries added WC’s third goal against Forrest AHS, while Hannah Miller, Jessica Hurley and Amanda Boleware each had an assist.

Against Bay, Jessie May iced the game with a goal on a free kick with less than five minutes to play. Drew Barnes was credited with an assist.

Page only faced five shots combined in the two games, but still ran her shutout streak to four straight games. Warren Central (5-0) allowed a goal in the season opener against Southaven, and its defense hasn’t cracked since.
