Stamps, Fisher to wed at Greater Grove Street

The engagement of Jocelyn Renae Stamps to Rashad Armoni Fisher Sr., both of Augusta, Ga., is announced today. The wedding will be at 3 p.m. Dec. 22, 2012, at Greater Grove Street M.B. Church of Vicksburg. A reception will follow at the Vicksburg Convention Center.

Miss Stamps is the daughter of James and Brenda Beamon of Vicksburg. She is the granddaughter of Roberta Stamps and the late Charlie Stamps Sr. and the late George and Martha Beamon, all of Vicksburg.

Mr. Fisher is the son of Cecilia Cole and Louis C. Fisher Jr. of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Major and Ruby Cameron of Vicksburg and Virlean Fisher and the late Louis C. Fisher Sr. of Utica.

The bride-elect is a 2001 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Hall of Fame, National Honor Society and French Club.

She graduated magna cum laude in 2006 from Jackson State University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in English. She received a Master of Science degree in higher education administration from Mississippi College.

She was a member of Alpha Mu Gamma honor society and the Delta Pi chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc.

Miss Stamps is an instructor at Virginia College.

The prospective groom is a 1997 graduate of Vicksburg High School, where he played junior varsity football and varsity basketball. He attended Jackson State University.

Mr. Fisher is an information systems analyst in the U.S. Army.
