James H. Stubbs Sr. died Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at River Region Medical Center. He was 85.

Mr. Stubbs was a patriot for his country, very interested in history and loved the Vicksburg National Military Park.

He was preceded in death by his father, W.H. Stubbs; mother, Lucy Pettway Stubbs; and two daughters, Lucy Anne Davis and Christine Butler.

Survivors include his wife, Helga Stubbs of Vicksburg; a daughter, Kathy Jenkins of Heber Springs, Ark.; a son, James H. Stubbs Jr. of Raymond; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home with the Rev. Tony Beazley and Dwight Sibley officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be tonight from 5:30 until 7 at the funeral home, and Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Joe Campbell, David Pettway, Monty Jenkins, Kelly Worthy, Hoyt Hogan and Glenn Jones.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Bowers, Harold Creston, Joey Irwin, A.J. Irwin and Jack Grogan.
