Britton to wed Stringer

Lucille Harris “Lucy” Britton and Everett Alan “Pud” Stringer announce their engagement and approaching marriage. Vows will be exchanged at 2 p.m. Dec. 29, 2012, at Woodlawn Baptist Church on Culkin Road. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Ms. Britton is the daughter of the late Raymond Harris Sr. of Belzoni and the late Estelle Tadlock Tharp of Yazoo City. She is the stepdaughter of William Cecil Tharp of Yazoo City. She is the widow of Janson Rainer of Laurel and Mike Britton of Vicksburg.
Mr. Stringer is the son of Linda Stringer and the late Everett Stringer, both of Foxworth, Miss. He is the widower of Peggy Davis Stringer of Foxworth.
The bride-elect retired as an English teacher after 37 years of service at Moss Point, Pascagoula and Warren Central high schools. She is a grammatical editor at the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center. She has two children, Brooke Rainer Southerland and Drew Rainer, both of Vicksburg.
The prospective groom owns and operates Stringer Dairy of Foxworth. He has two children, April Stringer Crozier and Dustin Stringer, both of Foxworth.
The Rev. Kent Campbell will officiate.
