The Rev. and Mrs. Hal Clark of Water Valley announce the engagement of their daughter, Chessie Elizabeth, to Lane Berg of Meridian. Mr. Berg is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Berg of Vicksburg.

Miss Clark is the granddaughter of Mrs. Smiley E. Arrington of Coffeeville and the late Mr. Arrington and the late Mr. and Mrs. Bobby H. Clark.

Mr. Berg is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hanberry of Hattiesburg and Clyde Berg of Lebanon, Mo., and the late Zelma Berg.

The bride-elect received a Bachelor of Science degree in speech-language pathology from Delta State University, where she was a member of Phi Mu fraternity and Reformed University Fellowship.

Miss Clark is a student at Jackson State University’s Graduate School of Communicative Disorders.

The prospective groom received a Master of Education degree in art education from Delta State University, where he was a member of Reformed University Fellowship.

Mr. Berg is an art teacher at Meridian High School.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 22, 2012, at First Baptist Church of Water Valley. A reception will follow at Downtown Water Valley. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
