Electronics hot in city, county home burglaries

Video game systems, televisions and laptop computers were reported stolen in two residential burglaries.

At 6:44 p.m. Monday, a Nintendo Wii video game system, a PlayStation 3 console and an HP laptop with a combined value of $1,754 were reported stolen from the 300 block of U.S. 80, Warren County Sheriff’s Department records show.

Minutes after midnight, a Compaq laptop valued at $500, an RCA DVD player valued at $99, an Xbox 360 valued at $200, a 19-inch Phillips TV valued at $150, a 40-inch Emerson TV valued at $400, a 47-inch Emerson TV valued at $500 and a 55-inch Sanyo TV valued at $800 were reported stolen from 255 Valley View Lane, Vicksburg police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

The door had been kicked in, he said.
