051614-Road Work

Vicksburg sewer department workers Jerrick Neal, left, and Gromycko Magee remove a section of the southbound lane of Mission 66 south of its intersection with Clay Street. Sewer department superintendent Willie McCroy said the inside lane of the street had developed a low spot and needed repair. He said the damage was not caused by a broken sewer or drain line, and was refilled with slag, a material used in road repairs. He said the material will be replaced with asphalt, possibly next week.
