According to MHP’s preliminary report, the Silverado was traveling northbound and crossed into the path of Montgomery’s Altima, which was traveling southbound, causing a head-on collision.

Montgomery died as result of his injuries sustained in the crash, Stewart said. The driver of the Silverado was transported to Sharkey-Issaquena Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A passenger in the truck was flown to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson due to her injuries.
