KENNER, La. (AP) — A former police officer in Louisiana has been sentenced to 90 days of probation for stealing money from five drivers during traffic stop.

Jefferson Parish court records show that 34-year-old Jan Gregory pleaded guilty Monday to five counts of misdemeanor theft. He is accused of taking a total of $3,500 from the five men between Jan. 20 and Feb. 5 last year.

Gregory resigned from the Kenner Police Department last year after more than four years with the agency. Investigators confronted him with allegations that he’d been stealing money from motorists he pulled over for driving without a license.
