Police continue search for shooting suspect

Vicksburg police are continuing their search for a man involved in the shooting of a Vicksburg man Tuesday on Meadowvale Drive.

Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said Michael Lamonte Sorrells Jr., 20, was sitting in his 1999 Toyota Camry with three other people in the 200 block of Meadowvale Drive when he was shot about 5 p.m. The other people in the car were not wounded.

He was taken to Merit Health River Region by ambulance and later flown to the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, where he was in stable condition, police said. The case remains under investigation.

Crime Stoppers offers a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of the people involved in the shooting.
