JACKSON, Miss. (AP) — A 64-year-old Mississippi woman is in custody after allegedly firing a gun into a car, killing the driver.

The Hinds County Sheriff’s Department says Patsy Davis, of Edwards, was arrested Thursday for murder in the slaying of 36-year-old Damon Green, of Utica. It was unknown if Davis has an attorney.

News outlets report the alleged crime occurred about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday near Utica. Major Pete Luke says Green’s passenger identified Davis as the woman in a sports utility vehicle who fired a gun, hitting Green in the head.

Investigators say Green and his passenger had bought marijuana in the Utica area before pulling over. Davis then drove up to Green’s car, exchanged words and fired a gun.

Luke says Green’s passenger drove him to his family’s home, where he died.
