BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Louisiana State University officials say four students were hospitalized after a multi-vehicle car crash knocked one vehicle into pedestrians on a campus sidewalk.

LSU spokesman Ernie Ballard said the Friday morning crash happened at an intersection just west of Tiger Stadium.

A spokesman for the East Baton Rouge Parish Emergency Medical Services said a fifth person declined to be taken to the hospital. Mike Chustz (Shoots) said one person’s injuries appeared to be serious, but none appeared to be life-threatening.

An emailed statement from the university said parents were being notified.

Ballard said it was the second traffic crash this week involving a pedestrian at LSU. A pedestrian stepped into the path of a vehicle and was injured Monday.
