NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Authorities in New Orleans have arrested a man accused of selling a 13-year-old girl for sex.

David Jones, 26, was booked into jail Friday on trafficking of children for sexual purposes and other offenses.

Police say the girl’s mother reported the teen as a runaway in August and was later told about a video that had streamed live on Twitter of the girl having sex with one man while five others chanted encouragement to him.

Police say the mother later learned the girl had been dropped off at a relative’s residence. The girl said a man she knew as “D” made her have sex with men for cash, which she would give to him. She said D ordered her to say she was 18.

It’s unclear if Jones has a lawyer to comment.
