Thieves lift items from boat while it was parked at hotel

A boat that was parked at Motel 6 on Frontage Road was ransacked early Saturday.

According to the Vicksburg Police Department, 18 All Star fishing rods and an H20Express rod with a total value of $1,800; two millennium rod holders, $105 each; a tackle box containing gear valued at $1,000; a Buddy propane heater, $80; and two children’s fishing rods, totaling $20 were reported stolen.

The report came in shortly after 8 a.m. Saturday.

In other cases:

• A 2012 Dodge Ram pickup tag number 1AH2910 was reported taken about 10:05 a.m. Saturday from the Super 8 Hotel, 4127 I-20 Frontage Road.

• Shots were reported fired about 11:57 a.m. at the New Main Apartments, 2727 Alcorn Drive. Officers responding found no evidence of shots being fired was found.

• A counterfeit $100 bill was reported passed about 3:23 p.m. Sunday at Ameristar Casino, 4116 Washington St.

• A 2007 Dodge Ram 3500 pickup was reported taken about 5:54 p.m. Sunday from the 400 block of Warrenton Road.

• Shots were reported fired about 10:39 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of Red Bone Road. Officers responding found no evidence of shots being fired.
