Teenager in stable condition after being shot early Saturday

A Vicksburg teenager is in stable condition after being shot in the torso early Saturday.

According to officials with the Vicksburg Police Department, the victim was shot just before 4 a.m. in a home on the 100 block of Drusilla Lane. The victim was transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center and was in stable condition as of Monday morning.

The shooting reportedly happened within the home, but investigators said there is no information on a reliable suspect or suspects at this time.

In other reports:

• Friday, officers responded to the area of Lover’s Lane just before 11 a.m. in reference to shots fired.  Upon arrival, officers found no evidence of shots being fired.

• Saturday, officers responded to a home in the 2400 block of Halls Ferry Road at around 7:30 a.m., where the complainant reported someone had shot into his home during the previous night. 

• Sunday, at around 9:15 a.m., officers responded to a home in the 2800 block of East Main Street where a complainant reported someone had entered his Dodge Ram pick-up truck and taken two I-Pads, two pairs of footwear and $250 in cash. The suspect then returned and took a generator, a power washer, and two ladders from the home.
