Bonds set in Irene St. shooting; third person sought

Two have been charged and police are looking for a third person in the Saturday evening shooting of a man on Irene Street.

Bond was set at $400,000 for Kenan Kenneth Jackson, 17, 201 Alfred Drive, who is charged with aggravated assault in the shooting, at an initial appearance Monday in Vicksburg Municipal Court.

A second person, Carissa Leshae Branch 22, 128 Alfred Drive, is charged with being an accessory after the fact to the shooting for helping Jackson elude police. Her bond was set at $250,000 during an appearance in Municipal Court. Police are looking for a third suspect in the shooting, Dontre Smith, 19.

According to Capt. Mike Bryant with the Vicksburg Police Department, a man was shot around 5 p.m. and transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. The victim’s condition was unknown.
