On Monday, Vicksburg Police Chief Milton Moore was notified that an officer in the patrol division has tested positive for COVID-19.

The officer began to feel ill Thursday and was tested on their own initiative. Since being tested, the officer has not returned to work and has been recuperating at home.

For the next 14 days, all employees of the Vicksburg Police Department will have their temperature taken when reporting to work, and all citizens are advised to wear masks when conducting business at the police station.
