Two men were shot in the ankles Saturday evening in the area of Mundy and Farmer streets.

In a release from the Vicksburg Police Department, officers responded to the area shortly after 7 p.m. Once there, they found two men suffering from similar gunshot wounds to their left ankles.

The victims reported someone in a black sedan fired the shots.

Both men were transported to University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. Department officials said both victims remain at the hospital.

In another report, the department announced it was investigating an incident where the back window of a car was shot out late Friday night.

According to a release from the department, officers responded to an address in the 1400 block of Coccaro’s Alley.

When officers arrived, they discovered someone had shot out the back window of a 2003 Toyota Avalon.
