Murder suspect in custody, details to come shortly

The Vicksburg Police Department has announced a suspect connected to the Monday night murder of 14-year-old Keiylan Cessna is in custody.

Details of the arrest and the suspect’s identity are expected shortly. The suspect is also expected to appear in Vicksburg Municipal Court later this afternoon.

Cessna was reportedly walking with two others near the 1200 block of Bowmar Avenue late Monday when he was shot and killed.

According to details available from the Vicksburg Police Department, the shooting took place just before midnight and indicate the multiple shots that killed Cessna came from a vehicle driving in the area.

Cessna died at the scene.
