Four drug arrests made in traffic stop in Vicksburg

A traffic stop in the area of Ameristar Casino, on 4146 Washington St., resulted in four drug arrests with one also being charged with assault on a law enforcement officer on March 22, according to the Vicksburg Police Department.

The arrests were a joint operation between the police department and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

The traffic stop was made after both agencies received complaints from the public, and it is reported that officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana when approaching the vehicle.

Tomi Lynn Davidson, 52, Kanton Mark McKay, 27, and Marshall Drake Davidson, 22, all of Vicksburg, were each found to be in possession of fentanyl and methamphetamine. All three were each given two charges of possession of a controlled substance and were each given $20,000 bonds at their initial appearance in Vicksburg Municipal Court on Friday.

The fourth individual, John Andrew Taylor-Burton, 31 of Vicksburg, was also charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance as well as one count of simple/aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. At his initial appearance in court, his bond was set at $200,000.
