Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) officers arrested a convicted felon Saturday after they say he was caught on video surveillance discharging a firearm on a public street.

VPD arrested 41-year-old Fredrick “Whip” Hill and charged him with discharging a firearm and weapon possession by a convicted felon.

“Officers with the Vicksburg Police Department responded to the area of 1100 First North Street in reference to a shots fired call,” VPD said in a statement. “Surveillance footage within the area captured a Black male firing multiple shots toward the structure of 1100 First North Street. Multiple spent shell casings were recovered from the scene.”
