Repeat offender charged with felony DUI

A Vicksburg man with previous convictions for driving under the influence (DUI) received a felony charge after another arrest over the weekend.

Officials with Vicksburg Police Department (VPD) said 32-year-old Kenneth Curry was taken into custody at a traffic checkpoint Saturday.

“On Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 11:37 p.m., officers were conducting a traffic safety checkpoint at the intersection of Mission 66 and Main Street when a yellow Ford Mustang approached,” VPD said in a statement. “The driver, Kenneth Curry, 32, of Vicksburg, exhibited visible signs of intoxication and, after registering above the legal limit on an intoxilyzer, was charged with Felony Driving Under the Influence, based upon previous DUI convictions.”

Curry appeared before Judge Penny Lawson in Vicksburg Municipal Court Monday. His bond was set at $25,000 and he was bound over to the Warren County Grand Jury.
