Thank you, Viking Nation, for a great season

What a GREAT YEAR for Viking Baseball!! This group of young men accomplished some things that we haven’t been able to do for the last 20 years! We have had some outstanding teams through the years, but for some reason we have not been able to make it past the second round of the playoffs. This team accomplished that goal after a back-to-back district titles. We have not won a North/South State Championship since 2001, but this team accomplished that!
These boys battled through a tough North State run to make IT to the State Championship. We burned the ships when we arrived at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Mississippi. We fought our opponent until Valhalla! That’s ALL a Coach can ever ask for! All IT takes is ALL you got!! Unfortunately we didn’t achieve the ultimate goal, a State Championship.
I just want to thank Viking Nation for showing up and cheering on these young men as they competed their butts off to represent themselves, this school, this program, their family, those that came before them in this program, and those that will come after them. The support at Trustmark Park was unreal!! IT was LOUD!!!! The phone calls and text messages I received with encouragement and good luck wishes made me understand we were not in this battle alone. A thank you is a big understatement.
I would like to thank this coaching staff of Jace Leachman, Wayne Lynch, Jake Parker and Derrick Dewald for working tirelessly to make this team better every day. I want to thank the parents and boosters for doing anything and everything we needed done behind the scenes to make sure this program has everything we need to be a successful program. Obviously I thank the players on this 2024 Warren Central Viking Baseball team for believing in the program, believing in each other, and giving this program everything they had deep down in their Viking souls!! You will be remembered! Also, I want to thank ALL the players and families that have traveled through these waters to make this program the best IT could possibly be.
Last but not least, I thank my wife, Missy Broome, for her support throughout all the years and her understanding of what we are trying to accomplish year in and year out! I love you. To my kids, Macy, Bo and Brooks, I love you as well. To Viking Nation, I love you!! We will go back to work and do what we can to bring some more excitement to Warren County!!
Love you meant IT,
Randy Broome
