FRED BRACEY

Fred Bracey died Sunday, June 10, 2001, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 51.

Mr. Bracey was a native of Warren County.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth Bracey of Edwards; two daughters, Sandra Bracey and Janaerica Bracey, both of Edwards; his sister, Dorothy Marie Sherrod of Louisville; four brothers, James Bracey and David Bracey, both of Edwards, Frank Bracey of Jackson and Leonard Bracey of Louisiana; four grandchildren and other relatives.

Services were Wednesday under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home.

TAMMARE LEIGH PRICE LUFTIG

Tammare Leigh Price Luftig died Monday, June 11, 2001, at her home in Vancouver, Wash. She was 33.

Born in Vicksburg, Mrs. Luftig was a graduate of Warren Central High School. She received her bachelor of science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and received her master of science degree from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She taught at the Tennessee School for the Deaf for nine years. She had lived in Vancouver, Wash. for the past six months and was teaching at the Washington School for the Deaf. She was a member of Hawkins United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Fred O. Price; and her maternal grandfather, M. Victor Dardin.

Survivors include her husband, Wesley Luftig of Vancouver; her daughter, Samantha Marion Luftig of Vancouver; her parents, Johnny W. and Sandra Dardin Price of Vicksburg; her brother, Johnny W. Price Jr. of Vicksburg; her sister, Denise Miniat of Port St. Joe, Fla.; her paternal grandmother, Johnnie Mae Price of Vicksburg; her maternal grandmother, Helen Dardin of Dalton, Ga.; and other relatives, including Leah Rae Miniat, Stratton Ellis Miniat and William Thomas Miniat, all of Port St. Joe.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Friday at Hawkins United Methodist Church with the Rev. Mitchell Hedgepeth officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the service Friday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Ricky Kirby, John Hebler, Allen “Smokey” Kelly, Hardy Zachry, Clint Gebhardt and Wayne Tolbert.

Honorary pallbearers will be Heather Rash, Fred Peyton, Travis Vance, Shelia McRaney, Victor Dardin and Bill Watts.

CARL D. JENKINS

JACKSON Carl D. Jenkins died Tuesday, June 12, 2001, at G.V. “Sonny” Montgomery Veterans Administration Hospital in Jackson. He was 66.

Mr. Jenkins was a native of Copiah County and had lived in Memphis most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a service technician for the Lilly Co. in Memphis.

He is survived by nieces and nephews of Utica.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica. Burial will be at Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Friday until the service at the funeral home in Utica.

ROBERT S. SMITH JR.

EDWARDS Robert S. Smith Jr. died Thursday, June 7, 2001, at Central Mississippi Medical Center. He was 43.

Mr. Smith was a native of Edwards and attended Edwards Public Schools. He was a member of Pleasant Hill M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Arlene Smith; and a sister, Jacqueline Smith.

Survivors include his father and stepmother, Robert and Flora B. Smith of Edwards; five brothers, Carl Smith and Harrison Rozell, both of Jackson, Bernard Lindsey and Bobby Lindsey, both of Edwards, and Curtis Rozell of Chicago; three sisters, Mittie A. Smith, Clemetta Webb and Charlene Montgomery, all of Edwards.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill M.B. Church in Bolton. Burial will follow at Greenhill Cemetery in Edwards.

Visitation will be from 1 until 8 p.m. Friday at Lakeover Funeral Home in Jackson and from 1 p.m. until the service Saturday at the church

ROSIE LEE TURNER

EDWARDS Rosie Lee Turner died Monday, June 11, 2001, at University Medical Center. She was 71.

Mrs. Turner was a native of Edwards. She was a member of St. Mark M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Judge Turner Sr.; and a son, Hurrie Anderson; a brother, Hurrie Becham; and her sister, Octavie Coleman

Survivors include two sons, Judge Turner Jr. of Edwards and Robert E. Turner of Champagne, Ill.; four sisters, Doris J. Turner, Bobbie Irving Turner and Deloris Turner, all of Edwards, and Rosetta L. Morgan of Champagne; her brother, James Becham of Edwards; 26 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at noon Saturday at St. Mark M.B. Church in Edwards. Burial will follow at Morning Star M.B. Church in Learned.

Visitation will be from 1 until 8 p.m. Friday at Lakeover Funeral Home in Jackson.
