City issues boil water notice in Rifle Range Road area

Published 5:46 pm Wednesday, November 15, 2017

A boil water notice has been issued for Vicksburg water system customers on Rifle Range Road, Smoky Lane and Grey Oaks Drive in south Vicksburg because of a broken 8-inch waterline, North Ward Alderman Michael Mayfield said.

Mayfield, who is over public works and utilities, said a joint on the line broke, causing a drop in pressure, and was expected to be repaired tonight. The break was reported about 5:20 p.m. Wednesday.

Further information was unavailable at this time.
