Arrests made in gun theft at pawn shop

A Vicksburg man and a 17-year-old juvenile face firearm theft charges after their arrest Monday by Vicksburg police, Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said.
Keandre Tyrell Thomas, 20, 74 Redhawk Road, and the juvenile are accused of taking an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle from Top Dollar Pawn Shop, 3421 Washington St. Friday. Thomas was being held without bail in the Issaquena County Corrections Center pending an initial appearance Wednesday in Municipal Court.
The juvenile, whose name was not released because of his age, was referred to the Warren County Youth Detention Facility. Both were arrested after officers received a tip through Crime Stoppers, Edwards said.
He said the rifle has not been found and the case remains under investigation.

In other cases:
• A traffic stop about 12:40 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of East clay Street and Berryman Road resulted in the arrest of Charles Lee Doss III, 20, 104 Ash St., on charges of a stolen firearm and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. He was also served with a warrant.
• Deanthony Rashard Smith, 20, 120 Impala Drive, was arrested Friday on warrants from Texas fror multiple offenses and for probation violation.
• A WiFi surveillance camera, CD case and motion sensor were reported taken Sunday from a home in the 200 block of Warrenton Road.
• A Ruger 9mm handgun, .380-caliber handgun, a Lenovo laptop computer and an iPad Mini were reported taken about 10:11 p.m. Sunday from a car parked at the Riverwalk Casino, 1046 Warrenton Road.
• A 50-inch Emerson TV and n HP laptop were reported taken about 5:31 p.m. Friday from the Fredella Apartments, 1205 China St.
• An iPhone, key ring holding about 75 keys and a bottle of Polo cologne, were reported taken Saturday from a car parked at Thorne Collision Center, 4075 Pemberton Square Blvd.
• A counterfeit $20 bill was reported passed Saturday about 10:11 p.m. at WaterView Casino, 3990 Washington St.
• A cell phone was reported taken about 10:54 p.m. Saturday from a car parked at the Klondyke, 100 North Washington St.
• Avon products with a total value of $40 and a purse valued at $45, were reported taken Saturday from a car parked by Dillards, 3505 Pemberton Square Blvd.
Police made the following arrests from Friday through Sunday:
• Warrants were served Sunday on Shawnderic Lamar Horton Jr., 24, 121 Jones Alley. Horton was also charged with having a suspended driver’s license, no proof of insurance and having improper equipment — headlights.
• Velecia Oreanna Davis, 25, 109 Elizabeth Circle, was arrested about 3:11 p.m. Sunday at the Vicksburg Police Department on a charge of contempt of court.
• Latoya Renette Hudson, 36, 1200 Mission 66, was arrested about 8:52 a.m. during a traffic stop on Interstate 20 on a charge of contempt of court. She was also served with a warrant.
• Scott Kelly Hosemann, 48, 2902 Drummond St., was arrested about 2:48 a.m. Sunday at the interseciton of Bowmar Avenue and Oak Street on charges of first-offense DUI and no proof of insurance.
• Phuoc Tran, 47, 219 Iowa Blvd., was arrested about 1:47 a.m. Sunday in the 7000 block of Washington Street on a charge of trespassing.
• Allen Myron Young III, 52, 302 N. Poplar St., was arrested about 1:31 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Crawford and Monroe streets, on charges of no proof of insurance, improper lane usage and possession of marijuana.
• Corlelius Clyte Cheeks, 42, 612 Hickory Drive, Canton, was arrested about 11:35 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of Halls Ferry and Fisher Ferry roads on a charge of public drunkenness.
• William Hardy May IV, 27, 3130 Grange Hall Road, was arrested about 3:19 a.m. Saturday at the intersection of U.S. 61 South and Rubber Way on charges of first-offense DUI, speeding, no proof of insurance and having an open container of alcohol.
• Melvin Devanta Wiggins, 24, 115 Windy Lake Circle, was arrested about 12:59 a.m. Saturday in the 4000 block of East Clay St. on charges of possession of a firearm after felony conviction, failure to yield right of way and having an open container of alcohol.
• Corey Ray Heron, 27, 75 Red Oak, was arrested about 11:11 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of Washington Street on charges of public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
• A warrant was served Friday on Wendy Rochelle Henigan, 46, 2807 Drummond St.
