Showers and thunderstorms projected for Saturday has led to multiple schedule changes on what was expected to be a busy weekend.

Bubba Bolm, the executive director of the Old Courthouse Museum, has announced that the museum’s spring flea market has been canceled due to inclement weather forecast for the area Saturday.

The market will not be rescheduled and will return in the fall.

Bolm said the decision to cancel the market was made after speaking with Warren County Emergency Management director John Elfer.

Saturday’s forecast has a 90 percent chance of rain, with 1 to 2 inches of rain possible. There is also a chance of thunderstorms, which will carry over from Friday afternoon when showers and thunderstorms are expected to start around 1 p.m.

The planned Park Day at Vicksburg National Military, which was originally scheduled for April 7 and moved to this Saturday due to weather, has been postponed a second time and will now take place Saturday, May 5.

The Center for Pregnancy Choices’ Walk for Life will still occur as planned Saturday morning, center director Priscilla Black said. The walk is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. and Black said if there is thunder and lightening at that time, they will hold a prayer session inside instead of walking the planned mile loop through downtown.
