According to Edwards, Digennaro entered the Vicksburg Walmart about 9:30 a.m. Thursday and went to a cash register in the store. When the cashier opened the register, he pushed her away, grabbed money from the till and fled the store, getting into a red car and driving off.

A vehicle matching the getaway car’s description was later seen by Clinton police, who tried to stop it, leading to a chase that ended when the driver wrecked the car and fled from the scene on foot. He was later captured in Clinton.
