The Mississippi 12U All-Stars held off elimination in the Little League Softball Southwest Regional in Waco, Texas, rallying to defeat New Mexico, 7-6 in 7 innings Friday morning.

Sarah Cameron Fancher singled with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to score Abby Morgan from second base with the game-winning run.

Kamryn Morson paced the Mississippi attack, collecting three hits in three plate appearances, while Jennifer Smith had a fifth-inning home run as Mississippi tallied three runs in the frame.

Mississippi tied the game at 6-all in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Abigail Morgan went the distance on the mound for Mississippi, allowing six runs on six hits, striking out seven and giving up no walks.

Mississippi will continue regional action Saturday at 2 p.m.
