Woman killed in home invasion

A Vicksburg woman was killed early Wednesday morning in a possible home invasion at a home at 314 Lake Hill Drive, according to Vicksburg police.

Lt. Johnnie Edwards said Jasmine Nicole Adams, 25, died from her injury at Merit Health River Region, where she was taken by ambulance.

Police were called to the home on Lake Hill Drive about 1:45 a.m. Wednesday about a possible home invasion and found Adams at the back door of the home with an apparent single gunshot wound to the head.

Officers were told told someone fired several gunshots into the residence and kicked the back door in. Three other people were in the home a the time, but no one else was injured.
